THIS IS MY FATHER’S PLACE | Eloise Cooper

I absolutly love the Book of Ephesians! Chapter 2 highlights who we are in Christ, the authority we have in Him and His great love for us. We have salvation, not because of anything we have done, but because of God and His love for us. I don’t know about you, but I would easily assume that I’ll get an extra nice gift on my birthday if I have been kind and generous to those around me –as if it’s dependent on how I have acted.

Well, the greatest gift from God is not dependent on what you have done at all!

‘For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God’ (E 2:8). Receive the gift of grace and salvation with open arms. He loves you! This is the greatest revelation I have ever had, that I am so loved by God even before I have done anything. You are so loved by God!

In Christ, we have authority, His authority; ‘And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus’ (E 2:6). As you read this scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to bring you revelation. You are an overcomer; you’re seated in authority with Christ. This is the truth; you are seated with Christ!

One day I was on a road trip with my family, we had to stop off at my Dad’s office. I thought I would quickly pop in to go to the bathroom. I was in my PJ’s, looking like I had just woken up, and I confidently walked into the office building, into the elevator, past many professional businessmen and women, who stared at me with bewildered eyes. I thought to myself, “I don’t care what people think, this is my Dad’s office!” I confidently walked out, down the elevator. As I left the building, I saw my whole family coming out of the building on the other side of the street. UH OH! I had just walked into a random office building, in my PJ’s! The reason I was so confident was that I thought it was my Dad’s building. I thought I had authority. If anyone had asked why I was there, I would say, “This is my father’s place.”

That’s what it’s like with God. We are with Him, we have His authority!

In any situation, you have the Word of God, you have His authority to stand and overcome anything that comes your way.

It’s so easy to forget who we are and the authority we have, but that’s why it’s so key to read the Word of God daily. Speak scripture and truth over your life. You are so loved! You have authority in Christ!
